The Englewood Water Authority is a political subdivision of the State of Florida and a Geographic Technologies Group (GTG) client since the Spring of 2014. They initially contracted with us to provide GIS consulting and install both Esri and GTG products for maintaining their water infrastructure. At that time, we set them up with our corporate software solution, Vantage Points. They took full advantage of Vantage Points GIS Viewer, Web Apps, and GeoMax (now known as GeoAdaptor).

In January of 2020, they reached out to our GIS experts for support on a full server migration. They had an ArcGIS Server Standard Workgroup environment they needed to upgrade to version 10.7. The water district also needed our team to help them transfer all components to the new server and get everything up and running smoothly. Once that was accomplished, we moved all their Vantage Points products to the new server and ensured all the latest updates were installed. Our IT team essentially replicated their existing environment from the old server with the latest versions on their new server – it was a full hardware and software upgrade.

While the Englewood Water District provided the server, we assisted their team by getting the latest GTG and Esri products fully upgraded and transferred. GeoAdaptor was utilized to pull data from the CentralSquare environment, as well as utility billing and work order information, into the Vantage Points program and accompanying Web Applications. Englewood’s team uses these tools in the field on iPads and in the office on desktops and laptops. With their suite of software, they are able to maintain their water infrastructure in reference to locations and GIS data. The office staff is able to more efficiently manage work orders and answer customer questions such as the availability of services in a specific area or at a listed address. GIS creates a more effective flow of information between the field and office crews and the people they serve.

Englewood Water Authority has an ongoing relationship with GTG. Our GIS experts act as their consulting team for all GIS needs and as support for both Esri and GTG software products. Whenever a new GIS project is initiated, GTG helps the Englewood team bring it to fruition.
