In 2022, the City of St. Paul, MN, Police Department (SPPD) recognized the urgent need to modernize its Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools to strengthen its maritime domain awareness and operational efficiency. While SPPD had long utilized GIS for crime analysis, incident tracking, and resource deployment, the department faced significant challenges with its existing systems. Their custom-built crime analytics platform had reached end-of-life status, relying on outdated technology that was neither scalable nor efficient.
The Port of Tacoma, WA, issued a request for proposal (RFP) seeking a skilled partner to support its Enterprise GIS environment and diverse geospatial needs. As a critical trade gateway in the Pacific Northwest, the port plays a significant role in regional and global supply chains. Its robust GIS infrastructure is essential to managing logistics, asset tracking, and decision-making processes.
Port of Houston, TX, sought expertise to develop a vision and strategy for advancing its geospatial technology, particularly for asset management. After a competitive RFP, the Port selected GHD and GHD’s partner GTG to create a plan for Asset Management and Geospatial technologies.
